Triton Transport is a Western Canadian,asset based Transportation Company providing heavy haul trucking services across North America. We service the resource,construction and energy industries specializing in multi-load project moves. The Edmonton Branch also has a North American Deck Division that handles a wide variety of dimensional,overweight and legal sized loads including; crane parts,pipe,general freight and less than truckload (LTL) freight throughout Canada and the continental U.S.
We are seeking an experienced,motivated,strong leader to run our Edmonton Branch Operations and facility. The Branch Manager is responsible for leading all facets of the day to day operations and administration of the Edmonton branch while playing a key role in the identification and implementation of new business with the support of both Alberta and BC sales teams. This position will also be responsible for fleet maintenance,staffing,discipline,and the implementation of company policies and programs. He or she will plan,organize,manage and evaluate all operational work and directly supervise operations / admin staff and Edmonton based drivers and Owner Operators,a total of approximately 34 employees and 20 trucks. This position will collaborate with management in developing strategic operational plans,policies and budgets; submit payroll and monitor expenditures and ensure safety and compliance is kept up to company standards. The Branch Manager is also responsible for overseeing property maintenance of a 4.5 acre yard,office and shop and for liaising with the subcontracted on site repair facility. This high level management position will work closely with the management team on company strategic initiatives. This position may be required to travel up to one week out of the month.
•A minimum of five (5) years of relevant management experience plus completion of a college or university program or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience• Supervisory experience and demonstrated effective leadership to manage a strong team of staff and drivers
•Ability to oversee billing and invoicing for accuracy
•Ability to oversee project planning for on time deliveries
•Thorough knowledge of COR Safety protocols,NSC and FMCSA compliance regulations
•Comprehensive knowledge and proven sales record and established client relationships in the transportation industry and preferably in heavy haul
•A sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor and trailer configurations for heavy haul
•Experience and understanding of working within a unionized environment and application of the Canada Labour Code
•Experience using various technology such as GPS tracking systems,industry specific software and MS office
•Thorough understanding and knowledge of US & Canadian transport regulations (i.e. Hours of Service,load securement)
•Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
•Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions
