Residential development South Austin TX

Burnet_Mkt_RenderTwo big developments on two ends of town are marking big milestones.

In North Austin, Burnet Marketplace at 6701 Burnet Road is moving forward, with demolition of the previous buildings on the site is now complete. That project is a vertical mixed use development that will include 329 residential units and 23, 000 square feet of commercial retail space. It’s taking shape on land previously owned by Travis County, and being developed by Cypress Real Estate Advisors. The Pour House Pub, which had also been on the old site, will be incorporated in the new development.

Burnet Marketplace is just one of several new dense projects to spring up on Burnet Road. From upscale residential buildings to chic eateries and medical office space, many of the corridor’s older buildings are making way for new development.

Likewise, the South Lamar Boulevard corridor is seeing a transformation. One of the most lauded and visible faces of that change is the new Lamar Union development at 1100 South Lamar. Greystar is that project’s developer.

Once complete, Lamar Union’s retail tenants will represent a very Austin lineup, including Café Medici, Service Menswear, and Daily Juice, among others. Lamar Union will also include nearly 500 apartment units.

Are you keeping up with all the changes in the Burnet Road and Lamar Blvd. corridors? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
